    Question Boxing Snob's ?

What my question is have any of you, as fan's been or are a boxing snob,?
have just followed the elite fighter's, and don't bother with up and coming fighter's.
The journey men fighter's, when you go to a live event do you watch, the under card
fight's?or just the main event. Or when you watch on tv do you do the same.
Do you look at it, that you like quality fight's, only or like me you like the lot,
the great's the not so great's, up and coming and journey men fighter's.?
What your take on this question.

I like to watch it all. Legends, journeymen, bums, brawlers, technicians, showb oaters, one punch wonders, plodders, speed freaks, bangers, slappers, shoulder rollers, counterpunchers, the whole shebang, all nine yards, the gamut, everything, the noble art,the men with heart, the scrappers and the elusive punch slipping dappers, the showmen and the professionals, the amateurs, the giants and the little men, the psychos and the train wrecks, the short and the tall, the gentlemen and geezers, the unstoppable and bleeders, the glass jawed and the granite chinned, the accurate and those who swing, I'll watch em all.

I like to get in on the proverbial ground floor with fighters...guys I've followed for the vast majority of their careers: Wlad & Vitali, Miguel Cotto, Andy Lee, Jermain Taylor, Deontay Wilder, Joe Hanks, Tavoris Cloud, and some other fighters whom I've fallen out of "like" with like Pavlik.

The first time I ever saw Pacquiao was on the undercard of Lewis-Tyson...he amazed me then and I think that was at either 115 or 118 or something crazy like that.

I'm not a "snob" but I enjoy seeing fighters develop, close holes in their game, and acheive great things. I am pretty good at picking out faults in fighters early on, I saw Sam Peter's slow hands very early for instance back when he destroyed Jeremy "Half Man-Half Amazing, 100% KTFO" Williams.

I really enjoy watching the heavyweights no matter who is fighting, so obviously I can't be a boxing snob

I live for the walk outs and the not so obvious guys. Def have favorites but majority of the time just give me a competitive fistticuffs without alot of fluff on it first and huge names second.

There must be a lot of boxing snobs out there because boxing events have a bad habit of only filling close to capacity near or once the main event starts... Really hate that that happens. A real pet hate of mine.

I am easily pleased and could watch two drunk homeless guys fighting outside York Hall.

I'm probably a snob when it comes to divisions below featherweight, havn't really followed any prospects at those weights just the top guys.

I watch everything, literally.. When attending a live event, id be one of the first to be there, if not, im not fullfilled. I feel empty, as if something is missing.

Im certainly not one of those casual observers who talks about floyd-pac all day cuz boxing doesnt revolve around those guys. From, strawweight to heavyweight, everyone from eueopean, puerto rican, asian... I got em all on tab.

im a fulltimer, deep in the game..

This is a good question & boxing fans as a whole might be more selective. I follow the elite or the prospects coming up. Also watch guys I like on the way down but if I never heard of the guys & they're not big punchers, I don't watch just to watch but I'm like that with any sport. I watch fighters or teams I care about, I don't watch anything just to watch.

when watching shows on tv i'll watch the whole lot, at live shows now as i go with the girlfriend instead of the lads (due to moving away) i'll split my time between the bar and the arena so my gf can enjoy the night too. Still make sure i catch a few undercard fights though out of say 10 fights i'll still see 6 or 7.

Obviously with the big name match ups there is more hype and attraction but still get to see the occasional great fight between unknowns its just the actual relevance to boxing as a whole that's missing but i still love it. I'm a fight fan if i see blokes having a scrap in the street the girlfriend can carry on and i'll catch her up

Actually yeah that's a great shout. I'm the same. To be honest i'm not even trying to be interested in those divisions.

Those barstards that willingly part with thier money to watch only 15% of an event!

If only they would sponsor us that expendable income, boxing would be better off

Just look at what people would miss if they only showed up for the main event though.

Imagine you had to tell your mates that you missed out the Paul Samuels v Cello Renda double knockout because you wanted another £4.50 can of beer?

Missing out on fighters like Max Maxwell and James Ancliff, and all the other guys that come to fight rather than just putting in the up and comers with some bum from the baltic. Many others worth a mention too.

I only feel snobby amongst uber casual boxing fans. For example I had to tell my friends cousin to stfu when he was talking shit about "See thing is right, Wladimirs got more belts than Haye but Hayes belt is better and more important than them all!"

Maybe historically the WBA belt is better but has no relevance at all now.

Other than that, yeah I watch the undercard fights! Always a gem in there..like Emmanuel Augustus entertaining the shit out of us on the Calzaghe Roy Jones undercard..but I have been known to get impatient because of how late we in the UK have to stay up to see a main event (5am) - The last thing I want when that happens is a light punching, 12 rd decision.
