UFC 141 - Lesnar vs Overeem, who ya got?

I'm not a big follower of MMA, I just watch the big fights and I pick Overeem in this one.Lesnar is just brute strength, take down, ground n pound. Overeem has more to his game than Lesnar, so I pick Overeem but wouldn't be shocked if Lesnar wins. Lesnar needs to do some thing about his stand up, he can't just depend on his brute strength like he has so far.

I'd expect Overeem to win this pretty early but you never know when two maasive guys are trading shots. Anything can happen at any time. Brocks better off taking it to the ground IMO. Cant afford to stand with the striker.

Overeem was very impressive in retiring Brock.. looking forward to his fight vs Dos Santos

It was a peculiar performance from Brock but it all became clear when he revealed in the interview after that he intended to retire from the sport all along. He didnt try to win this fight.

He was in survival mode from the start and crumbled from the first clean shot Overeem landed, then he waited to be saved by the ref. Sad to see the end of Brock because he still had the decider with Mir but if thats all he has left then its best he goes for his own safety. Overeem vs Dos Santos in 2012. Cant wait.

Ha, thats exactly what happened. Lesnar looks alot tougher than he really is, dude gets hit once and just crumbles. Big hype job was all he really was.

I quite like that Overeem. As someone who just glances at MMA and doesnt follow it the first id heard of him was when some pictures of him, before and after when he went to Japan and looked to be on roids. I was looking through some of his fights and what iv seen of him is hes an agressive striker, not fantastically skilled but confident enough to use it and also, quite huge to put weight behind it. I watched his fight with Cro Cop and after watching cro cop use that high kick ALOT that looks like youd see it coming a mile off and wondering why no one simply moves away, brings their guard up or simply grab it and sweep him. Good old Overeem just simply grabbed it and sweeped him and made him look foolish, much like the Werdum fight, making Werdum look scared to stand up! There is no rule about a fighter having to drop down and meet his opponent but I bet there is probably something that says you cant just stay on your back like a cpward after a pathetic attempt to keep away from any striking It was so simple and actually tired Werdum having to haul his ass off the canvas a million times I do think Overeem needs to work on his fitness but White wont be happy when hes ruined all his top fighters. Or will he? I dont know. I do also reckon that had Overeem fought Fedor hed have beaten him too. Looking at his record maybe White should get him a rematch with Nogiera, if he wants one?

Overeem vs Dos Santos will be a good match. I like them both but I want to see Overeem win his fourth heavyweight title in four different organization. He didn't have to fight Brock, he is already the Strikeforce champ. I guess he didn't want to wait for the Dos Santos/ Velasquez winner. Now they will unify the title when Overeem/ Dos Santos fights.

I dont think people know Overeem very well, but atleast the odds maker sort of did because they had him as the favorite. Brock is a wrestler who is trying to learn MMA. Overeem is a pure MMA fighter. He is an elite striker but he actually has more submission wins.

I was dissapointed with Cerrone, he fought like an idiot. Brought zero head movement in the fight and play right into the Diaz gameplan. I thought Cerrone had a higher fighting I.Q.

I completely agree about Cerrone. Still like the guy and think he is one hell of a bad ass, but damn it if he didn't play right into Diaz hands. All amped up mad and stupid. Got himself schooled for it.

Cerrone sid Diaz got into his head and that effected him badly. Usually he is a smart fighter! Love to see a rematch down the line.

Damn was I wrong about Brock. I thought he would win easy but he seemed himself to know before he went into the fight that he was effectively finished.
