I am amazed in the lack of faith some of show in Jones's future ring endeavors it's sad and comical at the same time....The best thing that could have happened to Roy was to lose the way he did to Tarver, Johnson Roy has had to gut check himself and pickhimself up off the floor, something he has never had to do before and gather the pieces of his ego and persevere to become well rounded, mentaly emotionally,I think Roy would do fine against Johnson,Calzaghe...The ROy that fought last nite would have beat Glen Johnson...Calzaghe I have come to respect him and laud his accompolishments but he is not a solid one punch guy at Supermiddleweight so at Lightheavyweight he wouldn't exactly be turning Jones's head into a pez dispencer..Jones is faster than Joe it would be a good fight with Joe's work rate and Roy's Handspeed.....

Late Sunday update...you all know the outcome...but here's the play by play as I'm watching the replay.

Vivian Harris (27 wins with 18 ko's, 2 losses, & 1 draw) vs Stevie Johnston (39 wins with 18 ko's, 4 losses, & 1 draw) Round 1: Harris comes out jabbing. Johnston returns the favor. RIght hand lead for Harris. Johnston jabbing. Left hand from Johnston lands flush. Right hand from Johnston. Harris just jabbing. 1-2 combo from Harris on the guard. Harris pushes Johnston off. Nice left hooks to the body. Damn. Uppercuts from Harris. Right hand nails Johnston & down he goes. 8 count & he's up. Johnston back to jabbing. Harris drops him again with another right hand. Damn. Very nice.

    Definently a Harris round.

Vivian Harris (27 wins with 18 ko's, 2 losses, & 1 draw) vs Stevie Johnston (39 wins with 18 ko's, 4 losses, & 1 draw) Round 2: Johnston comes in firing & Harris pops him again with a one two. Tied up. Harris working on the inside. Straight right nails him again & Johnston drops him. Damn. That almost looked like a push also. Not sure. Harris firing some heavy shots in home. Big left hand from Harris. Harris backs him up. Johnston trying to land & Harris throwing ver very accurate bombs. Harris looks fantastic. Right hand from Johnston. Uppercut from Harris. Left hook from Johnston. Johnston backing him up but doing nothing. Harris patient.

    Round to Harris.

Vivian Harris (27 wins with 18 ko's, 2 losses, & 1 draw) vs Stevie Johnston (39 wins with 18 ko's, 4 losses, & 1 draw) Round 5: Impressive showing from Harris. Harris comes right out hammering Johnston to the body & then up top. Right hand nails Johnsont again & down he goes. Damn. Vicious. Johnston up again...but Harris is controlling the pace. This is a really good fight. Body shots by Harris. Johnston backing Harris up. Straight left hand from Johnston. Right from Harris again. Johnston is cut. Shoulder to shoulder. Tied up & on the ropes. Left hand from Harris. Upper from Johnston. Right hand & then a big left hand from Harris. Harris ripping him on the ropes. Big right & then a left from Harris on the ropes. Right hand from Johnston. Body shot from Harris. Straight left from Johnston.

    Harris round.

Vivian Harris (27 wins with 18 ko's, 2 losses, & 1 draw) vs Stevie Johnston (39 wins with 18 ko's, 4 losses, & 1 draw) Round 6: Lost that one...sorry folks. Johnston fought back & won that round though IWO.

Vivian Harris (27 wins with 18 ko's, 2 losses, & 1 draw) vs Stevie Johnston (39 wins with 18 ko's, 4 losses, & 1 draw) Round 6: Johnston catches Harris with a right hand & Harris shook that one off. Right hand from Harris again. Johnston backing Harris up. Johnston working the body on the inside. Left hand from Johnston. Harris lands a right. Two lefts from Johnston & now Harris is cut. Johnston firing both hands against Harris & landing...but Harris is still pretty much in the fight but Johnston took that round again.

    Johnston round.

Hell of a showing against Harris...but Johnston has long been removed from the top of the 140lb list for a long time.

Still...good performance...this has been soft opposition weekend.

Vivian Harris was just happy to have a TEEM.

He had a really good TEEM.

Harris was one happy muh-fwocker after that performance. I was impressed with Harris today...last night...whatever.

He did good compared to what he did last go round against Maussa.

I was rooting for Stevie but he was too small and too past it. I still don't know about how good Vivian is, he's got some talent though. And still annoying.

I didn't see the RJ fight, how much speed does he have left?

To be honest, Jones looked good. His handspeed is still there, but he fights more in bursts of activity and Prince whatisname wasnt an A calibre opponent anyways...

Maybe he could beat Tarver now....he should stay away from Calzaghe though...

I don't think that Jones will ever beat Tarver...maybe back in the day when they were kiddies...but not now.

Just because Jones had a good showing against Badji & because Hopkins destroyed Tarver...two rights definently don't make another right...it just ends up being a wrong.

I'm telling you people...Jones steps up...against Hopkins, Calzaghe, or even Johnson...he get's another beating.

miles. Glad you jumped on the DRBR...even if it was at the last moment.

    Truthfully...Harris really REALLY impressed me today...last night...whatever.

I aint a fan of the guy...but Stevie Johnston was the poop back in his day & he still had some fire left in his gun this go around. I was really shocked with how accurate Harris was. Very nice.

He had a lot of speed against Badji...but in the end...who is he.

I don't want to see Roy against a top bill name. I just want him to retire now with his dignity in tact. If he were to fight another name & make a go of it...good for him...but I would rather see him just go out.

    Is that so wrong?

I know that Hulk would say so...but for Christ's sake...Hulk would argue with a hole in the ground just to see how deep the dirt goes.

For some reason...I see no problem with being realistic & critical of your favorite fighters for their own sake. Make any sense?

    Talk to me people.
