    Dawson by clear UD.

But Hopkins won't take the fight, mark my words. He basically said as much (and contradicted himself big-time) in a recent interview on the Ring site. "I'll definitely fight Dawson if the money's right, but if it's not, I'll vacate the belt and take something more lucrative that will be a 'big event.'" He then lists fights against Shumenov (seriously) and Cleverly as options. He also listed Bute, which, granted, would be a bigger money-earner than Dawson. (He also said "no way" about Cloud, also claiming that there would be no money -- versus that huge superstar Shumenov, you know.)

The real issue is that Dawson is the only one of those guys whom I'd favor to beat Hopkins.

I'd really like Chad to commit to fighting all 12 rounds (or as many as necessary). If he focused more rather than getting bored and taking breaks, I think he'd easily be a top 5 p4p guy. But maybe that's just who he'll always be. I'd still pick him over everyone at 168 or 175 though.

Of course the fight happens, Hopkins ain't going out like that. He had Dawson off his stride to pull such a move, had him reacting and ranting afterwards and deep down Dawsons people know they are actually the ones who need to erase the asterisk. Be it the rematches and or coasting luke warm showings in spots, Dawson has had a very hard time getting traction and forward career motion. He needs to strike fire or it'll pass him bye as a would have could have talent. I got Hopkins by w.12

I hope you're right but everything that's come out of Hopkins's camp says otherwise.

I can't see this fight happening, Hopkins cannot beat Chad at this point in his career, he should maneuver his career like George Foreman and just make the biggest money fights out there against limited fighters like Bute.

It will be a very boring fight but they are two of the best light heavy's out there so it's gotta happen.

I don't see this happening only for the reason that Hopkins tends to do well in drawn out fights. Especially when he can keep much from happening. He was winning against Dawson last time simply by not engaging.
