Default The most perfect fighter of all time....

Who would you say is that closest thing we have ever seen to perfect in the history of sport?
A few fighters come to mind, the likes of Leonard, Ali, Hagler however IMO the closest thing to perfect was "Sugar" Ray Robinson.

    Roberto Duran,

Remember he was a lightweight yet he was able to mix it with the likes of Marvin Hagler and beat Iran Barkely to win his fourth title when way past his best?

Could Hatton or Mayweather challenge Jermain Taylor? I think not

Duran was only 5 ft 7 as well by the way, same as Hatton.

    Monzon was pretty special too.

Nobody has. Not on film. His prime years were never recorded on film. So the soonest film or Ray Robinson as a pro boxer was in mid to late prime to end prime to past it.

A welterweight Robinson was pretty much perfect. Duran was also great at lightweight, just pure aggression.

The most perfect fighter of all time... an interesting one.

I love Duran, hes my favourite fighter of all time, but as an answer to this question Im not sure. Would the most perfect fighter of all time let No Mas happen?

Take that away and hes close.

True. However are we going to online allow guys without losses onto the most perfect fighter of all time list?

If thats the case, I think the choice between Rocky Marciano and Sven Ottke is an obvious one :P

I think you gotta go with Robinson, pretty much dominated at welter, then 5 middleweight championships

I'd agree, and dont forget, one round away from the light heavyweight championship which would of been possibly the most awesome feat in boxing history, that happening in that era.

Not really, but he payed for keeping his arms wide open. The Lightweight version of Shane Mosley probably. Or the 140 version which we never got to see

Than how can a fighter who no one ever saw fight in his prime be consider the most perfect fighter?
