It seems to be a problem perpetuated by Promoters, coaches and Boxers themselves in that they are hardly paragons of virtue themselves, dissing each other's teams and calling into question the integrity and credibility of those in the opposing camp. It is then hardly surprising that the fans follow suit. It doesn't excuse it, because if any boxer were really a coward he would not have got to a point in his career where people on internet forums knew who he was. It is also hard not to be negative when a fight which a year or two ago could have injected a real shot of life into the arm of boxing, by dragging in Joe Public, has been allowed to become a drawn out debacle, out of which nobody is coming out smelling of roses.
