The photographer/artist is clearly commenting on the commodification of the human experience on both a physical and existential level. The repositioning of the human form as an item of shrink wrapped produce, is further re postulated with the addition of a partner, so that the meditation encompasses an examination of the relationship between participants, artist and viewer.
Are we ourselves complicit in the dangerous denial of oxygen for the figures entwined? A semiotician like Umberto Eco would have a field day dissecting the cultural significance of this artistic communication and it's psychological ramifications.
