Khan would give pac more problems than cotto.
Arum will hype this fight up to the hilt and everyone will start to believe cotto has a chance this time round!
It will be cotto in june and probably hatton will come out of retirement for another go at pac in november.
Then in early 2013 pac will fight a new and improved josh clotty and retire in december.
Top rank are top guns in staging the fights no one wants to see.

One thing that really annoys me about this.

In the other threads tracking the adventures of Floyd and Pac, there were certain people claiming that Floyd didn't really want the fight and that him calling out Pac was just a bluff. I find it interesting to briefly summarize the most recent events leading to this thread here.

-After a less than impressive "victory" over Marquez, Pac's team does not seem to be even thinking about Floyd as the next match. Instead they are considering a 4th fight with Marquez

-correct me if I'm wrong but I think Floyd was showing interest at this point in fighting Pac, but then as we all know, Floyd was sentenced to a prison term. There was much speculation about whether Floyd could serve the time and still prepare to fight Pac.

-Meanwhile, Team Pac was looking for a fight in May, correct?

-Floyd's prison term is pushed back, likely so that the fight can take place

-Pac's team says a cut will keep Pac from fighting in May

-Floyd calls out Pac over twitter. Certain people here claimed that it was invalid and that Floyd did not really want the fight

-Pac "accepts" Floyds demands but the articals released blame Floyd for being the one who doesnt have everything lined up and ready to go... then some excuses are thrown around the the fight Venue is too small.

-And that bring us to this thread here: Pac fighting Cotto. WTF

Does anyone have anything at all to say about this? Whether or not the fight would be interesting is sort of irrelevant. Why are they even making this fight?
If it was Pac's intent to fight in June all along then they could have stated that a long time ago and Floyd very likely could have taken the fight had his prison term not been pushed back.

This is pure BS if this fight happens.

Hey, some would argue Manny looked aged and that he lost his last fight...maybe it's him who needs the 'soft' touch of a rebound fight. Though regardless of first meet I don't think Cotto is ever a soft touch or a safe bet. Who's optional? Khan, nah he just lost and has unfinished business with um Peterson. Bradley would be ideal no doubt, he's taking major flack from critics on all fronts and all he's done is win & win and been a professional. I see he and Pac more and more as somewhat of a crossroads fight as Manny is not exactly fresh off the teet at this stage. Marquez deserves and is probally burning up for yet another match but jeezus, I'm pretty certain I've already watched him beat Pac twice in my own opinion and I almost think he just needs to leave that chapter and end on a defining note. Thought of him having any doubt go to Manny again kills, he'll always have linger of Manny but fans know what they saw. Maybe I'm off but just not clamoring for a forth. Actually I'd much rather see he and Bradley go at
it. Style wise that is a fantastic fight. Mayweather just needs to go to jail. This fight/non fight will be hashed out for decades. IF it should come off great, but I think we've all wasted too much time on it. Blame Manny and Arum for dollar and centing it to death, blame Floyd for ducking out of sport for so long and getting into nonsense with law after knocking out his soft touch in Ortiz. Lots of blame to go around.

More bullshit match making from Bob sucking the life out of boxing Arum, there is no way we will see any difference in the outcome of this fight from the first.Pac man needs to leave Arum if he wants to fight pretty boy Floyd, otherwise it could be Margarito 11 next

Pac needs to grow some balls and tell his dad Arum to make the Floyd fight. This is some BS.
No disrespect to Cotto he's a good fighter and is in it for the money. He's not the one to beat Pac, the style is all wrong.

It really makes me laugh when people say Floyd never wanted any part of Pacquiao..what would he be afraid of? Making the most money he's ever made? Pacquiao in the Marquez fight didn't show Floyd anything that Floyd didn't already know...that a smart counter puncher will give Pacquiao fits.

The whole negotiation saga in 2009 was them both being diva's trying to show the other who is boss with their demands. Nothing more, nothing less. If Pac agreed to the tests we would have had a fight. Do I blame him? Yes and no but my point is neither of these guys are afraid of each other. This fight hasn't happened either because of their ego's or simply Bob Arum. I really don't see how somebody can see it any other way. It's glaringly obvious

IMO Cotto and Marquez are the most deserving outside of Mayweather, Bradley hasn't really done too much to get the shot and Peterson much less, IMO Cotto would surprise a lot of people on here in a rematch, he's in a good place mentally, actually has a corner now (and a damn good one at that) and he's boxing more now than he has in a long time, he hasn't really taken punishment since the Pacquiao fight and the fight would be at 154, hell even Rafael was picking Cotto as the best choice of the 4 (only barring Marquez cause although he was robbed in all 3 what's the point anymore?)

Fear of a person is not the problem. Nore is fear of getting hurt. The fear they both have is losing there status. Pacs past three performances have been sh*t where as Mayweathers have been brilliant. Now Pac pretty much looses to a man Floyd beat easily. You dont think this has anything to do with his sudden spout of bravery. It was only a little while ago when Floyd said he did not need to fight Pac. What happened to all that talk.
And why is Pac not accepting this challenge. He is still afraid of losing his status.
The fight would have been alot more competitive a couple of years ago. Im going for mayweather to win an easy decision now.

Boxing scene already confirmed pac will not fight cotto above 147.
Arum is not risking pac having anither performance like the marquez one.
Manny will avoid mayweather and marquez like bad breath.

i placed more blame on Floyd than Pac and Arum previously for this fight not taking place. This time I'm blaming Arum and Pac. Floyd got around to pushing for the fight (or at the least posturing for it) and Arum's responses have all been see through excuses. He doesn't even want to try to make the fight.

If Arum tried to make the fight and it didn't work out I wouldn't begrudge him, but I have a hard time believing a guy with so many excuses is willing to even make a good faith effort. Screw Arum.
