The statement 'and focus on Amir's next fight' is pretty telling. Obviously they have a better offer than Peterson. This doesn't surprise me really. I wrote after the Peterson loss that he would most likely avoid a Peterson rematch as irrelevant and instead chase a top name. He's one of the biggest money men in the division which is why Floyd is so keen to fight him. Looks likely it will happen anyway. I thought he'd need to fight and beat Marquez first but an immediate fight with Floyd is hardly atypical for boxing, where the money fights are made regardless.
