Well, Ricky got paid £17,000,000 to fight the best fighter - Eubank maybe didn't even get offered £1,700,000 to do the same.

He fought Pacquaio 12 years into his career. Eubank fought Calzaghe 12 years into his career, on 11 days notice for about £200,000. He then moved up not one but two weight divisions, and dominated a 210lb ripped warrior twice before his eye shut both times - knocking the 210lb ripped warrior down twice in the first fight, and in the second fight lifting the 210lb ripped warrior clean off his feet with an uppercut.

    No comparison mate.

Exactly. Dont forget on that weeks notice he also held his own against Calslappy. 8 rounds to 4 is no shame on a weeks notice.

Eubank was awesome..I know his record sucked but he and Benns rivalry was legendary and they did a lot for British boxings popularity. Eubank also knew how to entertain..He was cut from that same Ali cloth in the way he would do or say whatever he felt.

I never understood why us Brits get so butt-hurt when someone gives an honest assesment about a Brit fighters performance. It's immature and Eubank gave a near perfect assessment of what went down during Hatton and Pac. He's also perfectly placed to make that call with his experience and achievements

His record sucked?? He fought teak-tough Eric Holland in just his 4th fight, world-rated Anthony Logan in just his 12th fight, useful Hugo Corti (who knocked out legendary Hugo Corro and v.nearly had Pyatt out in the first round), Benn twice, Watson twice, future world champs (Malinga, Rocchi), former world champs (Lindell, Rocchi), heavy hitters Thornton 'n' Wharton, Euro champ Close, Collins, Calzaghe... and Thompson four weights higher than he fought Holland at... His record certainly didn't suck!

Eubanks experience will be invaluable when he brings a long his son. That will be a great partnership to see grow and develop.

Meh, I guess sucked was a strong word but it could have been a lot better. Trust me, I wish it was because I still love Eubank and that time in British boxing.

I suppose the case can be made that he beat Benn who beat a few World rated guys..and he beat future world champs. His jump to Cruiser at an advanced stage in his career has to be admired too. Wish he taught Calzaghe a lesson while in his peak though. Calzaghe the charisma void would have warmed up the undercard for every Eubank main event if their careers were on parallel paths.
