Any of you lot remember a HW called Joe Hipp, he was fat but he could fight 10 round's at a good pace
so don't think just because he may be a fat bastard that they can't do 10 or 12 round's.
Boxing is not about the body beautiful, you don't need good muscle defamation to be a good fighter.!

You are missing the point a bit Dia Bando. Whether a fat dude can do the distance isnt the question. He WOULD be a better fighter with less weight to carry round, thats a fact. He would have EVEN MORE gas in the tank without the pointless blubber. It could make the difference in a close fight between winning and losing.

I dont know Joe Hipp but if hes overweight and could fight a good pace, if he was on weight he would have been able to fight at a VERY good pace.

The problem is that Heavyweight is the only division in boxing where you can be morbidly obese; sure if you bix at the lower weights you could slack off and box at a weight above your ideal but not to the extent a heavyweight can.
You do a commercial and you're off the artistic roll call... forever

And the problem with that is If you're morbidly obese as a "professional athlete" usually you lose....Butterbean couldn't beat Larry Holmes when Larry was like 60. Hell look at Gabe Brown....you telling me he's a major success as a heavyweight

Guys that don't train get weeded out before they win belts... Randy Cobb for example, Tony Galento.

Weight limits for heavyweight is a fucking stupid idea.....it might be a good thought, but it's a stupid idea! You would still get pudgy cruiserweights and light heavyweights and people would still bitch and moan about that. Eddie Chambers is a little flabby, but he's a decent enough heavyweight....his style is what's off putting. Cris Arreola paid the price for being fat, as did Sam Peter, as did David Tua, as did Kirk Johnson, Hasim Rahman, etc etc infinity.

The guys that do well in professional boxing do well because of attention to detail regarding skill, hard work, and dedication to the sport. If the Klitschko's didn't train so hard they wouldn't be champions...if Mayweather and Pacquiao didn't train so hard they would be champions.....you can't show me a successful lazy title holder much less a true champion.
