My brother built a computer for 1600 bucks. He went to apple to try to get a computer as powerful as the one he built. The best desktop computer they had came close to 9000 dollars, and it still wasn't as good.

And as for Apple, Steve Jobs turned it into a brand again, made it cool and then they could do no wrong.

Very smart ideas, have read quite a bit on his ethos and ideas, I have no doubt he was what made them great again. Apple is now the most profitable firm in the world, Apple retail now makes more profit than any other retail shop.

Must be doing something right!
