Because fighters get paid in different ways. There's the purse, and then there are PPV revenues streams.

Pacquiao gets a small purse, and gets the majority of his earnings from the PPV money. It's for tax purposes.

Both Floyd and Manny are making 20+ million everytime they fight. It's just divided up in different ways.
Floyd would still make more money because they sell roughly the same amount of PPVs, unless Pacquiao's PPVs cost more in the US.

Floyd's fights actually sell more PPVs. And they cost the same in the US. $60 for HD; $50 for regular (previously 55/45).

It's not surprising to me that the fighter who is not in a long-term contract with a middleman makes more money. Floyd has leverage to negotiate terms with Golden Boy every time he has them do a one-off co-promotion with him. Pac has no leverage with Arum because the terms are already set.

Basically, Arum is pocketing a lot of money.

I am one of the guys that has to pay to see these two fight if they ever do and when I read a money post like this my eyes get misty and I don't give a rat's ass about the money. I just want to see the fight happen and no bullshit excuses when one of them loses. Although it would be nice to have some of their chump change I always remember paying to see Mike Tyson and wondering where 329 million dollars went and I worry about my mortgage. Things change and these dys, the banks don't make change so if they fight and get paid today then at least give us fans something for the memory book. Don''t profile like Haye did.
