It's a fight i have always wanted to see, i am not sure that a war torn Miguel Cotto can actually hit Floyd enough to win. I suspect that Floyd will find Cotto rather pedestrian and win a wide UD, Cotto has a punchers chance, but first he has to find the target!

First off Lyle I love the new sig.

Secondly, its pretty late for this fight to be finally coming off. Would have been better at 140 I think. Cotto is a little long in the tooth now.

    But, better late than pregnant.

Thanks, I enjoy it too, but I'm glad others appreciate it

Late but not too late...Cotto still has skills that could trouble Floyd, he still has power, he still has timing, he's still a big boy. Cotto is more in his prime than Oscar, Shane, and Zab were ALSO let's not forget that Floyd is getting older and perhaps slowing down.

It should be a great fight and whoever wins gets nothing but respect from me....I hope it's Cotto because Floyd is a smug little bastard (albeit a great boxer), but either way 100% respect from me. It's not a catchweight, it's a very legit very dangerous fight for either fighter. I love the matchup!!!

This is about 3 years too late. Still, it's probably the 2nd or 3rd best fight for PBF.

My only worry is Miguel's onion skin it'll definitely tear otherwise I think Miguel can take Floyd's best shots. I just hope and pray the Cotto left hook to the body resurfaces on this fight

I like cotto, could be my favourite overseas fighter at the minute

if theres one fight i wish had never happened it would be cotto v pac, cotto was beaten up and its a real down point of his carear

the margarito loss was a bit different, i thought he put up a fantastic fight and every man can lose a fight like that, it didnt really take anything away from his record

with the catch weight and the peds rumours around the time of the pac fight im not sure cotto deserved the beating he got

Im glad theres no daft weight demands on the mayweather fight, hats off to floyd

Give props to Floyd for taking the fight, but carnt help thinking this should of happened 5-6 years ago when Cotto when in his pomp. Not saying the result would be any different, but Cotto of back then would be a harder fight for Floyd than now.

In saying all that, Cotto could cause Floyd some problems, but Floyd being Floyd, he will use his superior boxing skills to win a good competitive fight 8-4 on the cards.

cotto before the 1st margarito fight would beat his head in, but now....this will be a interesting fight if cotto can get to mayweathers body, they goto get miguel back to working the body, he was one of the best body wreckers in the sport but thats almost ompleat gone from his game now.....goto work the body miguel its something that others havent donr to that prat......mayweather is fav but i hope cotto can pull one last great effort out of the hat, this will most prob be the last high profile fight of a great warriors carreer

    GO COTTO

Cotto will have to get down and dirty to stand a chance in this fight. Turn it into a brawl and don't be predictable because he could get a beating like Gatti got if he does.

I think emotions are ruling the head here, the Miguel Cotto of 2012 is not the same guy from 2007/08. He is a great fighter and in my opinion has only ever lost once legitimately.
Floyd is still the best defensive fight of all time, Cotto's only chance is the body, he goes for the head and Floyd will not be there. It could be a Gatti type fight for Floyd, Cotto will be hit and hit often by Floyd, i expect a wide UD for PBF with one part of me hoping for a glorious left rip to the body by Cotto that has the pretty boy doubling up and falling to the canvas. It's a nice dream.

    PBF via wide UD...
Don't see Cotto giving PBF problems.
Maybe early in the fight Cotto lands a couple of good shots when he PBF decides to do the shoulder roll on the ropes but other than that PBF all day.

Mayweather is a very smart man. He picked May 5th , big day for Mexicans , and got Canelo put on the undercard. More Mexicans will buy now since Canelo is a superstar . He will get more PPV buys then Pacquiao vs Bradley then for November he will demand a bigger split for him since he will get more buys then Pac.

Mayweather is a very smart man. A phrase not made meaningless through overuse.

In my opinion he's never lost legit. Once to a handwrapping cheater and second to a weight drainer who had a huge question mark over his head for refusing to take PED tests.

But I agree, he is probably not the same as a result of those losses which is unfortunate because he's always been a great fighter. He showed me that he is still near his best vs Marg for the 2nd time though. Great boxing, good feet..just needs to touch the body a little more when it comes to Floyd after sticking the double jab in Floyds face..kinda like Oscar was having success doing.
