I'll agree that Calzaghe would probably take Roy now (though he would have been KTFO by Roy 10 years ago). I didn't see this fight with Prince whatever his name was, but Roy looked like absolute shite in his last 4 fights before that (yes, including Tarver I). But I think even now Hopkins would dominate Calzaghe. Calzaghe's a good fighter, but he's never been in there with anyone with half the tools Hopkins has.

Calzaghe would be a hard fight for Hopkins but honestly...I think that Joe would win it.

    Jones especially.

Nah I think Hopkins would beat Calzaghe, Jones though is to far gone & would get KO

You are WAAAAAAAY overrating Calzaghe off of his win against Lacy. I guiess its because Hopkins and Jones Jr are so close to Lacy in style right and the move up in weight would do nothing to Joe why look at the wonders it did for Gatti against a supposed non puncher Yeah Roy nor Hopkins would beat Calzaghe

You can bet your ass that Joe will do exactly what he is supposed to do & you can believe that Roy will go down.
Wacko, what is it with you man? You act like and claim to be a true boxing fan, a hardcore fan, but when the going gets tuff for your fighters, you give up on em. I mean I am a huge Bernard Hopkins fans, but by all rights you seemed to be even bigger and what did you do? You picked Tarver to beat him! Same with Jones you picked Badi to KO him. Well it didn't happen that way. And instead of being pleasantly surprised or giving JOnes some credit, you go and downplay the whole thing and be all fukin negative about it. We already know Ajamu ain't no elite guy, no world beater. We all knew that goin in. And I been sayin b4 the fight and after I hope Roy just retires honestly after such a dominating performance. BUT, IF he chooses to continue and is to challenge for a world title against a star, Calzaghe is the best style matchup for him without a doubt. And yes Joe Calzaghe has looked unimpressive against weak competition, competiton as weak and weaker than Badi Ajamu. Calzaghe rises to the occasion it seems because unknown European opponents have gone the distance with him when they shouldn't have. Joe Calzaghe is a very good fighter but lets look at who he has beaten, the BIG names if you will: 1. A nearly washed up Chris Eubank, 2.An old Charles Brewer, who was a warrior but chinny and Joe couldn't get him outta there mind you. 3. Got up from a knockdown and stopped an aging Byron Mitchell. Also, you say Roy has never gotten up from a knockdown to win!? I beg to differ. You see the Del Valle fight? He was dropped, got up and dominated Del Valle.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"

Yeah tell me about it. Jeez guys lacy wasnt the best fighter in the world...he was the best hyped fighter in the world. I said it before the fight and i say it after, he was one dimensional and was begging to be outboxed and i picked calzaghe by UD. Compare lacys style to hopkins and jones and you get nothing alike. Calzaghe outboxed a world class brawler, not a world class boxer like hopkins and jones.

    True

But Calzaghe still kicks B Hops ass. :P

Throwing 10 punches a round just won't work against Calzaghe

Listen...hulk...if I wanna see both sides of the coin as a fan...I will...I don't need some blind hardcore Mayorga fan trying to tell me right from wrong.

I'm a huge Hopkins fan & I was thrilled that he beat Tarver. I despise Tarver...period.

I gave Jones credit...I said he looked good...but he looked good against a question mark.

Of recent date is what I am talking about hulky. He's been knocked out cold & he's lost when he faced a live body.

Blind faith does not get one through life alone...hence the reason I see both the good & the bad as a fan...now...if you can...which I am sure you can not...you never have been able to in the past when concerning all matters Wacko...just move on.

As a fan of all 3 fighters I feel qualified to say that Calzaghe can beat both Jones and Hopkins now...

Age has left them in a position where Calzaghe can take them now....it hasnt always been that way...

Gotta agree with that - Joe's too busy for Hopkins, I'd bet on a UD there. Roy should've retired after beating Ruiz, and against JC, he's way too unwilling to mix it up to pull that one off.

Aww come on Wacko how can you say you like to see both sides of the coin and then say you despise Tarver...period?

I'm sure has his good points.

Just because he's ugly and annoying ain't no reason to be all prejudicial against him, you should be ashamed.

Now go and put on Christina Aguilera's song ' I am beautiful', go on put it on now, I know you have it, it's on your shelf in between your Britney Spears and Hansen albums. thats it! Go on now play.

Picture little Antonio sitting on his bed, face all sad, his little bald head all shiny.

Now hear those lyrics, 'I am beautiful no matter what they say, words can't bring me down oh yeah......

Picture little Antiono, his big teary eyes looking up at you , I am beautiful in every single way......words can't tear me down..

Now put on that other great track,'Lean on me, when your not strong, I'll be your friend, I'll help you carry on, cos it won't be long before I'm going to need somebody to leaaan on!!!

Do you feel the love now? Can you see the other side of the coin?

NO? Nah didn't work for me either, he's just an unlikeable Kunt.

You know, it's easy for Calzaghe to be active and get off 30 punches when his opponent was standing right in front of him and not moving his head. Won't help to be much active when Joe actually has to move his feet and find a target rather then having it stand in front. You all act like Lacy and Roy and Hopkins have the same style somehow. Do you actually truly think that Calzaghe would have been half as accurate and hald as active had Lacy not been standing there in front of him and not moving?

No, but boxing and its fans are full of double standards. Oh how so many posters would discredit Shane by saying he fought "Vargas" and that Vargas allowed Shane to look like his old self but they claim Calzaghe as invincible after he beats Lacy
