running and boxing in the ring are 2 different animals...I had a boxer that was a HS Cross country runner turning out sub 6 minute miles...and for a long time he was winded after going just 2 or 3 rounds in the ring sparring......I had him start focusing on sprints 50-60 yards(hopefully uphill) for 20 or so reps and this helped out immensely.....also incorporating explosion drills..like jumping jacks as fast as you can for 1-2 minutes or jumping rope as fast as you possibly can for 2-3 minutes or rapid firing(punches) on the heavy bag for 2-3 miinutes at a time will help as well.... good luck hope this helps....
It feels good to be back home.
