What are the best De La Hoya fights?

A friend of mine has asked me to get a load of De La Hoya fights for a lad down the boxing gym. Apparently his trainer has told him he reminds him of a young De La Hoya and has told him to study his style, yes I rolled my eyes as well when he said that.

But anyway I said I would get him some good fights to study, it will make it all the more hilarious when for he has his first pro fight next year and finds out he ain't no De La Hoya , more Del Boy Trotter!

So my question is what are the best fights to get. I can get access to everyone of his fights, but obviously I havn't got the hard-drive space or the broadband connection to get them all so I want to know the best ones.

I thought it would be best to get fights where he won and looked good so thats Mosely 1 & 2, Trinidad, Hopkins, Sturm and Quartey all out, plus he's got the Mayorga fight so I'm thinking Vargas and Gatti but I havn't seen any of his other fights.

As any of you who ever had the misfortune to read my posts will know I'm not a fan of the Golden Boy but I am aware that as one of God's special Saints he does have his devotees and this poor lad is one so I'll do my best for him.

Yeah I enjoyed the Quartey fight, I like to see His Holiness work, and damn did Quartey make him work. The Trindidad fight is probably my favourite De La Hoya fight simply because he deserved to win and got robbed :P

But I have to give this guy fights where he looked good. Has anyone seen his fights with Pernell Whittaker, Julio Ceasar Chavez and Hector Camacho? Were they good fights?

He didn't look good against Pernell Whitaker.

Look at his first 20 fights, at the lower weights Oscar was near unstoppable.

I've got his dvd collection. first 20 fights were great. for style go with the two chaves fights he was pumped up for those. Vargas fight was good but he has his left to low trying that mayweater stuff. Anything before Mayweather changed his style , gatti was his first fight under Flyod sr. Plus remeber that oscar was (is) a south paw who fights with his best hand foward. thats why his hook was so deadly back in the day.

the Chavez fights are worthy...they almost got ODLH banished from anything mexican for what he did to JCC in the ring....he got on the bad side of alot of mexicans...they said he should have treated JCC with more respect instead of giving JCC those beatings....so I think that makes it a must see.....

I liked DLH vs. Trinidad, Vargas, Whitaker(interesting fight), Quartey, Gatti, and Mosley vs. DLH I was amazing.

No doubt about it you have to show the kid the Vargas and Mayorga fights because I believe those were Oscar's two best showings. Mosley took Oscar to school in their first fight and the second one was very close, I thought he lost the Quartey fight but it was close, Pernell took him to school at an old age, and I scored the Trinidad fight a 7-5 for Tito with Oscar only looking good in rounds 5-8 (the first four were a toss up). His grude matches were by far the best, show the kid those fights.

Mos entertaining fight for me has to be the first Mosley-Delahoya. close fight till the end with intense action consisting two of the best fighters of this era.

Delahoya-Quartey has to be mentioned also.
