I dont see anything wrong with people on long term JSA being made to do some community work for their giro. The only person/s IMO who would object is the kind of person that doesnt want to work and should be told sorry son, gravytrain stops here.

See the guy a few weeks back who won millions on the lottery but still claims DLA or whatever its called because it isnt means tested? Ridiculous.

I agree with Memphis. What's a few hours community service for the cash you are getting if you are long term unemployed. Definitely not for Mr Salary man who has been working 20 hard years and is desperately looking for a job, but definitely for Mrs Trollop who hasn't worked for 20 years. Let her polish some streets for her free money.

Heard about the demonstrations inside Tesco stores by activist who say that they are using free labour to stack shelves under the pretence that it is work experience for the log term unemployed.

I thought tesco were part of a government scheme to give work experience to the long term unemployed and pay them nothing. Other companies backed out because of the bad publicity.

Thereare plenty of parks and community centers that need a lick of paint or a clear up. I dont see why they have to involve someone like Tesco.

Then again though at some point choice has got to be removed from the equation.

Yes fuck Tesco's. Nobody should give their labour to a corporation, but should give it to a community. Painting a roundabout is a noble task and gives something back. Tesco's is a corporate whore, they should just pay people and stay away from exploitation.
