By Michael Norby: Undefeated Irish middleweight sensation John Duddy has pulled out of his August 10 fight with Carlos Borjorquez in Las Vegas due to a mystery illness.

Duddy's manager Eddie McLoughlin informed SecondsOut that his protégé has been under the weather for the last couple of weeks and that 'Team Duddy' had made a collective decision to cancel the fight over the weekend.

McLoughlin hinted that acute fatigue brought on by the recent heat wave may be to blame for the Irishman's troubles.

"John hasn't been himself over the last while," McLaughlin said, "We don't know if it's heat fatigue or something more serious. He's seeing NYSAC Dr. King right now and he's told him to rest.

"He (Duddy) was sitting right in front of the air conditioner on Sunday but he wasn't cooling down, he was sweating buckets and we decided then to call it off. He's been getting worse gradually throughout the last two weeks." He added, "All going well though, we should still be ready for the September fight in New York against 'Yory Boy' Campas."

Mexican middleweight Jose Luis Zertuche will take Duddy's place on the Top Rank promoted card televised nationwide on OLN.

I would have to say that this illness could possibley be linked to a rare decision amongst up & coming fighters that I likes to call...GREENITIS!

Yup either that or yellow fever!

But what I don't get is how you can claim dehydration 10 days before the fight?!

Thats bollocks! If he is dehyrated sit him down and give him a big glass of water, problem solved, what next cancelling a fight two weeks before because of a heavy night and lack of sleep?

Some fighters are F****** jokes, especially when you compare this with Eubanks claim that before the first Watson fight he went without food and water for 4 days and collapsed the night before the fight, but still went in and took care of business the next day.

A big blot on Duddy's name now
Now then, have a look at your own sentence " ....Eubank's claim.... and you'll see why most people will think that he talks bigger than what actually happened.
Yes yes I know you are right but to have added that caveat would have reduced the force of my argument
