Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.

Chavez was a brilliant tactical fighter, especially at 130 and 135.

if Chavez hadn't possessed the granite chin and Football helmet of a head of his he would have had been stopped by plenty of the men he faced, his chin made up for his lacking technical skill, i'm not saying that he had no skill or boxing ability cause it's obvious that he did, but there are other fighters who were/are leaps and bounds better from a technical standpoint than Chavez, for instance Lopez, Chavez may be the greatest Mexican fighter but IMO he's hardly the greatest technician to come out of Mexico

J.M Marquez based on what he has accomplished and the competition he's fought. Finito Lopez Notable second.

Just because somebody didn't box in a 'classical boxing' style, it doesn't mean that they shouldn't be considered technical boxers.
He wasn't Mexican, but for example ..... Roberto Duran wasn't a 'boxer', but he had very very underrated boxing skills and his technique was solid as a rock. Barerra was a boxer/puncher who always got involved in wars ...... but the reason he wiped the floor with Naz was because his boxing technique was superior and it didnt buckle under pressure. Same for Chavez - he was a 'Mexican' fighter and he really redefined that genre - but everything he did was built of solid, professional and well trained high-discipline technique.
I'd agree that sanchez was the more recognised STYLIST, but arguably Chavez and Barrera are also up there for their boxing skills.

I don't quite understand why Chavez doesn't qualify. He's my pick! Followed by Barrera and then Sanchez.
