When i was in the Navy we had few SB guys (special boat) come aboard the ship for a while. We got talking to them about unarmed combat and they said that if it comes to the situation that you are fighting without a firearm then things have seriously seriously gone wrong and you are deep in the sh*t anyway. A combative mindset,ferocious vehemence and willingness to kill the enemy at all costs is more important than techniques. The small number of techniques taught to special forces are based around killing not fighting. Throat strikes and biting and eye gouges are the order of the day.

The BJJ and spinning backfist can stay at home with the civvies.
