Have never studied JKD but isnt it more of a concept ie use what works for you than a martial art in its own right?

For example i am a judoka. I could strip all of what might work for me in a fight in a judo sense and be left with the 'meat' so to speak then effectivly say its JKD? Judo is the only 'martial art' that i train. The rest is fairburn WW2 battefield concepts of agression and gross motor strikes such as chinjab, palmfist, hammerfist. Judo is my support if my primary tools go to shyte.

The RAT system that Vunak puts forward looks very much like the type of stuff that i train except i don't rate the stright blast since it carries no power. I supposed its designed as an entry mechanism to put the assailant on the backfoot so you can come in with heavier artilliary.

Just going back to JKD for a sec though its weird because you see some schools teach JKD as an art in its own right with set forms and patterns.
