I thought the scorecards were on point for a change, except for Julie Lederman. Don't see how you have the fight even after a 10-7 round for Martinez. Not a great performance from Martinez, found a home for the left but not much else. Wasn't really putting any combinations together, just content to land one punch and dance around the ring. I think Macklin came in with a good gameplan which was to limit Martinez's opportunities and stay conservative. I think everybody thought the irishman was just going to stand in the center of the ring and trade, but it didn't happen it confused Martinez to a certain degree. It doesn't make for an exciting strategy, but if it wasn't for that fluke knockdown, which seemed to ignite Martinez, it just might have won him the championship.
