Yeah, Baines probably does deserve the starting LB spot. Lescott?!?!?! The fuck Smalling!?!?! Sheesh...good luck winning anything with them two on the pitch.

Gerrard should be captain and start....Cleverly & Wilshire have been injured. Carrick is old as shit, and Parker & Barry aren't as good going forward.

Appreciate the input - why don't you all have a go ?!?

I hadn't included Defoe or Lennon but if Redknapp is in charge then they will go. And maybe King too ?!?

I can't see Harry taking it before euros though

    Strikers: Rooney, Bent, Sturridge, Walcott
MID: Gerrard, Parker, Barry, Young, Milner, Oxlade-Chamberlin, Wilshire, A. Johnson
Fullbacks: Baines, Cole, Johnson, Richards, Cahill, Jones, Ferdinand, King
    GK: Hart, Green, Carson

That's what I'd put out and if Wilshire isn't healthy enough to give 100% then perhaps you bring in someone else maybe Rodwell.

Does England have 23 players worth taking to the Euros?

Not to put to fine a point on it. This thread is about football, the England squad and the Euro's. Quite why Lyle or Killersheep feel the need to contribute is beyond me. It turns my stomach, sticks in my teeth and frankly infuriates me. It is like having a family argument only for the neighbours to wander in and start chipping in with their two penny's worth. Seriously boys, fuck off. You could put your combined knowledge of the subject in hand, on the back of a postage stamp, and still have room to lick it without touching your words. We are not talking about the Disney High School Girl's soccer tournament, this is serious shit. My 23 would be as follows

    GK's
    Gordon Banks
    Ron Springett
    Peter Bonetti

    DF's
    Norman Hunter
    Ron Flowers
    Gerry Byrne
    Jimmy Armfield
    Bobby Moore (Captain)
    Jack Charlton
    Ray Wilson
    George Cohen

    MF's
    George Eastham
    Ian Callaghan
    Martin Peters
    Bobby Charlton
    Alan Ball
    Nobby Stiles

    FW's
    Roger Hunt
    Terry Paine
    John Connelly
    Geoff Hurst
    Jimmy Greaves

Oh hang on that's only 22. Better take the young lad Rooney as well then.

He's out for the season with an ankle injury, he's very unlikely to be fit in time for the Euros. Even if he is, his position in the squad wasn't guaranteed anyway so I doubt he'll be selected having been out for 3 months.

I think the squad will look something like this:

    GK: Hart, Foster, Carson.

DEF: Johnson, Richards, Ferdinand, Cahill, Jones, Lescott, Cole, Baines.

MID: Parker, Gerrard, Lampard, Wilshere (if he's fit in time), Milner, Walcott, Johnson, Young.

    ST: Rooney, Sturridge, Welbeck, Defoe

Personally I'd take Smalling over Jones, Walker over Jonhson, probably Carrick or someone shite over Lampard, Oxlade-Chamberlain instead of Johnson, and someone else instead of Defoe. I'm struggling there though, I can't really think of anyone who's played well enough to warrant it this season, and Bent is injured so he's out. Maybe Grant Holt. He's probably been one of the better performing English strikers this season. That's a bit grim though.

I'm not sure about Terry either. I think whoever is in charge will probably want to take him, but it seems pointless to take the captaincy off him while he has the court case hanging over him if the FA are then going to allow him to be picked in the squad for the Euros anyway. If he does go it'd probably be in place of Lescott.

EDIT: Sod it, I've decided that if I was picking the squad I'd take Cattermole instead of Lampard. And Campbell instead of Defoe. And Wes Brown instead of every other defender. I also think Pearce might be in charge for the Euros, I can't see Redknapp walking straight into the job at the end of the season. I think he'll agree to take over after the tournament.
