Boxing Professionally in the United States?

See, I want to fight in another state. There's not a lot of gyms in my city, and I've never heard of any boxing events going down in my state. Is it plausible to be a professional fighter that is self-trained and just shows up for the fight?

Yes, it happens all the time. Usually a cornerman will be provided for you...and then you'll be fed to the wolves.

I think there is a smaller, little known boxing gym around where I am. I think I'm going to pursue them and see what I can get from them.
