Just watched it now. Floyd seems to be toned down he was betting on his game, but he really wasn't as brash as he was before, he was like a business man instead of the rowdy gangster wanna be type and wouldn't let Max Kellerman refer to Cotto as just an opponent. I did like that though.
It was nice seeing him and Cotto being civil with each other. I think people as we all need to realize is Mayweather isn't goint to be around much longer. Pacquiao either and when they are both gone there's gonna be a void in boxing.
So I'll appreciate all these fights till the final one. Moving up to 154 to fight Cotto is a risk as he'll be very comfortable, and Floyd not so much, but it is a risky fight and one that should be looked at. But watching ESPN saying Cotto is a shot fighter or a bum when he is a champion in order to discredit the fight is very disrespectful to him as a person and as a fighter. So I hope the majority of us boxing fans will appreciate this fight.
Along with Bert Sugar's death, these fights, are the end of an era. Cotto, Mayweather, Pacquiao etc have all given us the last 10-15 years of fights and Bert has given us countless, it's a shame to think that their careers are maybe 1 or 2 years away from being over. It truly is the end of an era, and history at this moment. The entire landscape of boxing as we know it and have known it is about to change. It's sad to think about, but worth it if they are all appreciated.
