I thought Thompson made a poor effort the last time and am not expecting any better this time. I guess we just have to appreciate how good Wlad is above these challengers.

Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
So, a 40 year old journeyman with modest skills and no KO power is getting a rematch because... five years ago he was able to have a little success touching Wlad before being knocked unconcious? Despite having not had a high profile bout since? And who says the HW division sucks.

Im not doing anything the day of the fight but still not going to watch it. I would seriously rather watch paint dry. I would rather watch an hour of dressage than this fight. I would rather watch fu/king jersey shore or sex in the city. I really would. I should put every penny I have and vote for Klit to win. I will probably only win 20 quid but even if I put ten grand down, I wouldnt be afraid of losing it.
Pointless, pointless fight, just like Mormec.
Hahaha. I didnt think Thompson had fought anyone of note so just checked on boxrexc and the guy Thompson beat in an eliminator was Maurice HarrisThe same guy who lost to Jimmy Thunder and Larry Holmes in the 90's, and quit against Tye Fields. Holy man doesn't take much to be a mandatory I guess.
I'm not saying it's even a terrible opponent, and if they are looking to fight Arreola in the states afterward then fair enough. Not that Arreola has much of a chance either, but I think he would at least force some action out of Wlad and possibly give him some fits. Tonys absolute best chance is to make the fight a completely negative stinker he still loses, this fight sucks.

Wlad by KO about round 7
The Best There Is, The Best There Was, The Best There Ever Will Be
I expect Wlad to stop him earlier than the last time they fought just judging from past form and Wlad's a smart fighter, plus if you look at when Wlad has had rematches he's done better in all of them.
Thompson vs Chambers was supposed to be the eliminator bout, but Chambers picked up an injury and they didn't end up fighting. To Tony's credit there's not a long line of folks wanting to fight him because he's bigger than Wlad, he's a southpaw, has a solid chin, good jab, and tough defense....he's not an easy boxer to beat......he's not exciting to watch either, but there's a distinct reason other top teir heavyweights aren't lining up to fight the guy.
Wlad KO/TKO 6-7

I don't see the point in this fight. I probably won't even bother watching.
The first fight wasn't even close and now a rematch with an even more ancient Thompson.
The Klits are becoming a bit sad.
The fight will suck, but nice location:
At Berne, Switzerland (Epix and EpixHD.com): Wladimir Klitschko vs. Tony Thompson, rematch, 12 rounds, for Klitschko's Ring/IBF/WBO/WBA heavyweight title.
I believe Wlad will attempt to KO Thompson, and add some "excitement" to the HW division in one of the earlier rounds, lets hope so, if it goes past 6 rounds it'll put everyone to sleep.
Thompson's only chance is to go right after Vlad like he has nothing to lose and pray for that miracle home run punch. If he decides to box him then he goes to sleep within 8 rounds. Vlad vs Arreola will be interesting to see if Chris comes in shape.

Wlad by KO, but quicker this time around. I ain't going to bother watching this fight.
So that's yet another heavyweight title fight that I'm not excited about.
Of course I will watch; I always do, but the prospect of the contest does whet my appetite at all.

Uhh.... THIS.
The only thing I can add is that Thompson obviously lost the "paper-scissors-rock" held between the pathetic (and terrified) group of (cough) "contenders" that stink up....er.... I mean.... make up the heavyweight division.
Editor's Note: Thompson should've asked for best 2 out of 3. Just saying.
Wlad has mentioned fighting other challengers but either he's already beaten them, his brother has already beaten them, they are too green, or they are outright cowards.
Look for a challenger for him....Cris Arreola is coming back looking decent and I think he matches up well vs Wlad but hell he doesn't stand much of a chance. Seth Mitchell is too green. Chambers, Thompson, have already been beaten. Fury & Price are too young. Holyfield is too old, Toney is old and shot. Povetkin is a chicken and won't fight him. Valuev retired. Haye already got his ass kicked & retired. Chisora is suspended.
At this moment as a champion you try to root out a challenge like a recently retired fighter...Lennox Lewis WILL NOT come back....Riddick Bowe would but nobody wants to see that. Golota might but he's not "scary enough".....there is really nobody left for Wlad to fight....Wlad could fight til he's 40 and not have trouble holding on to his titles. If Vitali wasn't around Wlad would have a hell of a shot at beating or matching Joe Louis' record of successful defenses.
