In the boxing world any answer other than Ali or Ray Robinson would get you shot or stabbed in some dark alley.

    My personal favorites are:

    1. Tyson
    2. Liston
    3. LaMotta
    4. Foreman
    5. Hagler
    6. Graziano

The 6 Fighters I despise are:

    1. Lewis
    2. Wright
    3. Ali
    4. Jones Jr
    5. De La Hoya
    6. Byrd

was salvador a young mexican featherweight who died very young

You'll never get me to say anything but Roy Jones Jr.
Sorry but I don't think Ali should even be mentioned in the same breath

Now where is BritKid so he can shove Charlie Burley down our throat

If Whitaker had any kind of punching power we would not be having this debate, he would be the greatest of all time, what do you guy's thing about a Leonard Vs Whitaker fight. I think Pernell would have took it but it would have been close.

Armstrong was a World Champion/title holder from 1936 to 1940. In 1937 he went 27-0 (26) against opposition with a combined 1,000+ wins...

I have Toney at 96, but Hopkins at 38, so I suspect one day, I will consider The Executioner Great.

If the question is "who is the greatest boxer of all time" then theres one answer IMHO. Ali. I think whilst Great is something you achieve in the ring its also something increased out of the ring. Our Sport has a bad enough rap now. It needs Ambassadors, Its why Tyson just about creeps into my top 10 HWs list. The man did nothing good for the sport outside the ring, despite the fact he was a phenomenon in it.
Ali was too. I never get tired of watching The Thrilla.., or Rumble.. Ever. Add what the man has done away from the ring that reflects well on the sport and my mind is made up.
Favorite fighter is tough, theres been alot I've liked watching. Gatti is/was off the scale. Like watching a Rocky flick only you know the digs are for real. Tyson was great to watch when he was mauling someone.
I like the S Sanchez line. How do you think Sanchez would have done with MAB?

Yeah he died aged 23 in a car crash, but had compiled a 44-1-1 record, with wins over Danny Lopez twice, Wilfredo Gomez & Azumah Nelson.
