Again, are you hanging "partial unification" on the fact that Floyd apparently now holds the "IBO" belt? I don't really care about any of the alphabet straps, but if you're going to talk "unification" I think you really need to stick to the big three.Originally Posted by maracho
Are you calling Judah a "lackluster opponent" in general or just saying that he wasn't at his best against Baldomir? I mean, Judah is WAY more skilled than your boyfriend Margarito, and was in fact the real, undisputed, linear welterweight world champion when Baldomir beat him. Yeah, he should have taken Baldomir more seriously. But that doesn't really make your point. Just having Judah on his resume means that Baldomir has faced better competition than, say, Antonio Margarito.Originally Posted by maracho
I admit that I'd get up a little more for Floyd/Margarito. But Baldomir has done more to earn the shot. He's the champion of the division. He's at this point better known to casual fans than Margarito is. As to "the most exciting and lucrative opponents," those would be ODH and Shane Mosely--both of whom have publicly ducked Floyd, at least for now. If they're still not up to fight after Floyd takes care of Baldomir, then maybe we'll get an actual WW "unification" fight--with Margarito or Hatton.Originally Posted by maracho
And I'll say this again--I've still yet to hear that this fight is actually happening from anywhere other than the totally unreliable boxrec. No mention anywhere else. I won't believe it til I see it.
