No but I wont put someone down for having ambition amd trying.
My motto in life is if you dont ask you dont get. Or, if you never try, you never know.
If you start anything with realistic small goals, when you reach them it gives you pride and encouragement to go further. If he doesnt even try because he listened to some poeple whove never even boxed competatively or stepped foot in a ring to spar then dont you think that would be a shame? If he has to learn the hard way then so be it but thats how we all learn, from our mistakes.

Have a spar yes but Ross 48 is to old to consider pro boxing, shame would be he got hurt and if you are honest at 48 you are more likely to be than at 28.We are all learning till the day we die it's more common sense than learning, I'm a realist Ross it's a young man's sport not for beer swilling OAP's.;

Never say never.
Dont crawl up in the corner with your thumb in your mouth and tear in your eye accepting what you think your fate is.
Say "Fuck it" and give it a try!

Good for you, its never too late to have a dream.
I do feel that being punched in the face a few times will make you change your mind but at least you will be fit by then

You are very much like a Pit Bull you don't give in I like that,Brockton is having a mid-life crisis as we all do I could under stand if he wanted to paint or write a book, older you go the less resilient you are healing from injury. And if you are really honest the training would be to much, by the time he got fit or if he got fit , yes go to a gym have a little spar he may get in there and say this is not for me.
Going pro is a foolish thing when you have lived the good life, all that training and going with out the good thing in life is not for ever one is it Ross.Brockton write a book and Ross you need to think about
becoming a trainer.![]()

Boxing is seldom not a profession that you should do unless you have no other choice in your life. It takes no prisoners, is harmful to your health and most likely end up badly at your age. Take part in training, sparring and amateur bouts as a taster. Should you still survive then consider it as a profession.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
