Both men thought it was a 6 round fight and fought accordingly at opposite ends of 12 rounds. Kayode won the first half and Tarver the second. Why Tarver was not cashing in on the left hand earlier is puzzling. He could not miss. Especially the straight left although the hook and uppercut also found a home.
To be honest I think a draw was fair, but on a side note I surprised to see 4 southpaws vs 4 orthodoxin 1 night. It was quite a strange thing.
I cant argue with the draw. Nor would I call it a robbery if either fighter won it by a round or 2. Id like to see a rematch but we´re unlikely to now.
Kayode was sloppy and he was slapping Tarver while Tarver landed the cleaner punches. A draw should have settled everything because it was that close. Kayode was angry but he talked himself out of money fights.
Caught up with the fight the other day.
I had it 115-114 Tarver although at least 3 rounds could have went either way.
