Of course not and truly daft.

I agree with everything posted here except the whole sturm being scared thing. No fighter at this level of the sport is scared of any other fighter. A guy with enough balls to lace up for a four rounder has more courage than most of us. A guy scared of another at this level of the game is a myth cause no fighter with that in his blood would ever make it this far. Sturm, donaire, chris john zolt erdei and the like need to fight better opposition. But hard to shit on them when the so called best two in the sport set a effed up example by not fighting the best in each other. Sturm is no more of a punk than the rest in some ways

The OP didn't say Sturm was to blame for anything, just that he represents what is wrong with the sport. IamInuit's post laid out many of the problems, but Sturm is indeed a good example of them in action, imo.

He's not the same fighter that lost to golden boy, in Germany you will have to Ko him to beat him the thing is he is a Hero in Germany. Strum will never leave his country to fight why would he has a
very large fan base and makes plenty of money. The problem is the country not Strum the reefers are rubbish and the decisions are shocking always been the same over there.

One fight comes to mind in Germany is, Robin Reid v Sven Ottke, remember Reid knocking him over with a right hand and gets a warning. He beat Ottke that night and they robed him strange place Germany they sit round the ring as if they are at a funeral. Not much passion by the fan's all to polite it like they are watching a Film Ho shoot the Donkey.

I haven't been the harshest critic of sturm. I understand why he stays in Germany. If I got robbed when I came to the US, I wouldn't want to leave the friendly confines of home either.

But the way he has absolutely refused to face Golovkin is a shame. He has ducked him, plain and simple.

A friend of mine who is a Sergio Martinez hater has said continually Martinez should just go to Germany and fight Sturm. Of course, I think Sturm would refuse that fight. Martinez could agree to take 20% of the purse, let Sturm's promoter be the referee, and let Sturm's mom, dad, and wife(or girlfriend) be the 3 judges and Sturm would still turn down the fight.
