the fight could be interesting if ortiz comes out swinging like he did against mayweather.
Thought the Mosley version in the Canelo fight was tons better than the one that showed up against Manny. He got wobbled I think twice, but he never lost composure and contrary to what you're saying, I think he showed spurts of measured offense.
i'm not really concerned with mosely...he's retired.

i'm concerned with how poor canelo's showing was. didn't show much confidence.

Big props to GBP for getting this fight done.
There matchmaking has been phenomenal recently.
I'm leaning towards Ortiz on this one.

Yeah, but what I meant was I thought Mosley's performance was the reason why Canelo didn't look all that spectacular as we thought he would be. So either we underestimated Mosley that night, or overestimated Canelo. I'm going with my first assumption.

I have to disagree. I was impressed by Canelo's composure after being cut and think he will handle Ortiz easily. Early KO for the cinnamon kid.

Agreed...having a cut and being in vs a veteran fighter like Mosley is a difficult ask for anyone. Shane sat on his punches and couldn't budge Canelo, I doubt Ortiz will do better.

I just see this as a total mismatch and Canelo will out muscle and land at will vs Victor....no disrespect, but psychologically Canelo has the big advantage, size wise he's bigger, and he's not yet tasted professional defeat....I'm calling TKO 5 Canelo over Ortiz.

They are both 5,9" and Alvarez only weighs 3 pounds heavier on fight night. Shane isnt a puncher anymore, hes too concerened with lasting the distance. As long as Ortiz wins his next fight I think Golden Boy will end up regreting putting him in with Ortiz.

I think Conelo will win. I think it will be his shot accuracy that will beat Ortiz in the end. But very good fight and they both have a shot. Acuracy and technique with Conelo and Power with Ortiz. Ortiz has been in deep water and came out on top before so thats on his side.
They both have about the same defence and indurance in my opinion.

Mathew Hatton, Ryan Rhodes and Shane Mosley would not hear the last bell against Ortiz

I think we have another Bute v Froch on our hands.

I dont understand why so many people are counting out Ortiz so fast even predicting him to be ko'd early. In my opinion Ortiz takes this one. Canelo gets hit easily and if Ortiz was able to land a little on Mayweather then he will surely land against Canelo. I'm going with Ortiz he seems to be in the same position in this fight as he was when he first faught Berto .

I think Mosley would still beat Ortiz, who let's face it doesn't have all that great of a chin either. Who has hurt Canelo? I haven't seen every single one of his fights, but I do not recall hearing about him getting rocked by anyone.

Victor Ortiz is a good fighter and all, but I'm not buying this whole Victor Ortiz will KO Alvarez nonsense.

I know what you mean. I was only on Butes side in that fight due to what other people were saying about him as I have not seen many of his fights.
But having watched Conellos fights I just see something special in him. Ortiz is a great fighter and should not be counted out at all and he has a better record of fighters but im just going with my gut feeling on this after seeing most of either of there recent fights. I am going for Conello.
I just have a feeling Ortiz will swing wrecklessly and Conello will take advantage of that.
Plus after reading all the comments on this post it seems the majority is in Ortizes favour to win.
Also Mosley survived against Mayweather and Pac. I dont think Ortiz would stop him.
