Imagine a prime Mayorga vs Margarito, Judah, Angulo, Kirkland, Canelo, JC Jr.....would have been nice to see
    Hell yes !

After he was jobbed against Spinks, I think Mayorga said fuck the system and stopped chasing glory and started chasing the big money.

I still think Mayorga could make good fights with Margarito and Kirkland and have a shot at beating either. Angulo too.

Has Mayorga won a fight since he beat Forrest? That was about a decade ago...You know why everybody picks him to fight, especially when they are coming back after a layoff or a loss? It is because he sucks, really, really sucks. You can hit him with everything you throw, he's slow, but he looks like he is trying. It is the same theory behind good bucking horses; you want one that you can ride but that looks like it is trying hard.

    Won a fight ?

    Lets see...

He defeated Michelle Picarilo for a world title.

He beat up and retired Fernando Vargas in an exciting fight.

He dominated journeymen Eric Mitchell and Michael Walker.

He was ahead on one scorecard going into the last round of a still formidable Shane Mosley before he was dropped, Mosley wasn't sent to a neutral corner and Mayorga was subsequently KO'd.

He also gave Cotto a hell of a fight before once again being KO'd in the last round.

Not bad for a guy who fights every 18 months and is then fed to almost exclusively elite competition.

That's what I get for not watching a fight for 5 years.

Come on now. Mayorga himself admitted he lost the fight. Spinks was more interested in running than fighting but Mayorga having no idea how to cut off a ring is what lost him the fight

I don't know how anyone is expecting Mayorga to stay busy against easier opponents. He is 37, not getting any younger, and spent the last decade or so cashing out on his career which is based primarily on his '2' wins over Vernon Forrest and that's about it. Mayorga will seize any additional opportunity to cash out wholeheartedly because that is what 90% of his career is.
