Its not so much breathing with Toney, he knows how to work just enough to steal a round and how to get relativly safe whilst not exerting himself.

The reason you exhale whilst throwing is a different thing, it's all about energy and your intercostal muscles.

You learn when to rest and how to rest effectivly, you need to know when to loosen and tense up, being tense when you don't need to be burns energy for no good reason.

James Toney can go 12 rounds because of experience (that alone won't save you though... as you would of saw with Rahman...) its the same with Hatton and Calzaghe but its more to do with them being extremely well conditioned (esspecially in Hatton's case, though I think his team didn't move him up to Welter as well as they could have)
