All time - Holyfield
Current - Shane Mosley
Evander is one that comes to mind. the man would be in the gym at 6:00 am and would ask to lock up at night , you would literally have to kick his a** out of the gym, or he would tend to over train, and that no exaggeration. I would say no doubt Evander Holyfield
I wish todays Heavyweights would take notice !![]()
jeff lacy and michael grant ken norton holyfield mike weaver was quite muscley
Ali?
I base that on him having a lot of speed, decent strength and power, excellent flexibility, good explosiveness and a lot of endurance.
Other than speed not the best at everything for a heavy weight but he was more than just average at everything else.
by the way... who cares about looks?![]()
in this lennox lewis documentary which has alot of Emmanuel Steward in it , Manny was saying how Evander actually wouldnt do much running and roadwork though apparantly.Originally Posted by Lords Gym

Yeah Manny had him when Evander was having problems with a heart condition and the related fatigue associated , I am referring to back in the day when holyfield was with Duva and the gangOriginally Posted by Poom
Looks alone mean nothing alone.
A thin muscluler body doesn't mean conditioned.
Half the middleweight division and below LOOK conditioned.
The proof is in the pudding.
Oscar De La Hoya is my pick for a well conditioned fighter
Esp. against Felix Trinidad.
He stayed on the balls of his feet for most of the fight and moved alot,
And throw hard jabs and combos to Felix (who has a nose bleed in the early
Rounds).
Roy Jones Jr. Is another, his speed for 12 rounds and constant movement
Is boxing at its best, the pure science as an icon.
Move, hit, don't get hit. Thats RJJ.
Ali his conditioning was second to none. He had more wars than anyone, and a heavyweight to boot, an amazing human speciman. In the late 70s early to mid 80s, his vo2 max must have been something special.
Pain lasts a only a minute, but the memory will last forever....

Actually what constitutes being conditioned is quite interesting.
I don't know how many of you saw Superstars on the BBC last year, it's a competition that pits elite athletes from all sports to see who is the best all around athlete.
There were various events, a few I can remember 100 metres, 800 metres, 100 metres swim, cycling (up a killer hill), squat thrusts, tricep dips and loads more.
Anyway boxers generally sucked which amazed me. Ricky Hatton was on it and was pretty S***.
The best were skiiers and rowers.
Alain Baxter (British slalom skier) was absolutely awesome at everything, running, cycling, dips, swimming, He won the show last year, I think Duan Ledajo won it the year before.
But Hatton, who I would have picked to win before didn't even get through his qualifying heat.![]()
Definitely, because he looks so athletic, people forget that the bloke is some size...Originally Posted by Scrap
