I'm very pleased with this choice of opponent. Nishioka arguably has claim to the top spot at 122 with Donaire behind him.

This will be a fantastic fight and if in the mean time Guillermo can fight someone noteworthy and then fight Mares and the winner of those fights....yeah I doubt that its gonna happen this year
BUT this fight will be fantastic competitive fight.
Right. There is a reason that Mares didn't mention Moreno as a possible opponent after he won his last fight, even though they share the same promoter, and the fight would be easy to make. However, I actually am a fan of Mares. On that list though, he ranks below the rest.
With regard to the above list, Nishioka is a wild card too and should be somewhere on that list. I haven't seen quite enough of him to predict an upset in this fight, but he looks very good from what I have seen.
Rantcatrat, I don't know how I (and you too, I guess) missed this, but it looks like Moreno is moving up to 122 and making his debut there against Mares on Showtime on the same night as HBO puts on the Donaire-Nishioka fight: Mares-Moreno, Abril-Bogere, Russell, Olympians eyed for Oct. 13-14 | RingTV and HBO, Showtime fall dates to clash | RingTV
Edit: never mind -- just saw your post on this - should be great. I'm wondering what the odds will be -- this could be a good one to put money on Moreno.

Looking forward to this card
@Rantcatrat
Yes...
He bowed twice. When they first met up center stage to take pics and once they were done taking pics.
Very respectful and gentleman like as usual from Donaire.
