I hope there is a rematch in the future. And though I will be supporting Lacy all the way in his comeback. When it comes to a fight with Joe, you know where I will display my loyalties.Originally Posted by amat
Agree on the defence. But when he says any man could have beaten him, I think he was alluding to him being burnt out. It was his first ever big fight and...he just wasn't ready. Oh well, he'll be back and I think he'll get another fight with Calzaghe somewhere down the line and I still think he beats Calzaghe. Call me dellusional but Calzaghe fought Lacy's fight on the inside last time. It was just that Lacy was nothing more then a punching bag standing in front of him. Won't be the same a second time. Of course he needs 4 or 5 fights before a Calzaghe rematch is even discussed but I think it will happen.Originally Posted by miles
To be honest I dont really see him saying " I was beaten by the better man". He said he could have been beaten by any man. Thats a small token of respect.Originally Posted by amat
Maybe he would but I think it's legit. He was out of his element, you could see it just on his ring walk and after round 1. He wasn't ready for a fight that big. He didn't really discredit him, he said it was an excellent performance but...I'm sure he was telling the truth. I mean it's a lot easier to say he got beat by a better man then say that he blew it and it was on him. I have thought from the night of the fight on that it was as much of a Lacy loss then it was a Calzaghe win. Still it was a masterful performance.Originally Posted by miles
I hope Lacy comes back and does well....
but he discredits Joe there "I felt like anybody could have beaten me".....Joe would do it again Mr Lacy
I wanna see Jeff do well, but to say any man could have beaten him that night does not bode well for the future....he needs to solve that defence..,.
I think Lacy can rule the division, but a victory over Calzaghe will not play a part in it...
Kind of wierd that we say one of the most lopsided 12 round shut outs in the history of boxing and we're talking about a rematch![]()
