Never saw that, but poor Mike apparently got a taste of his own medicine. That's how he (Weaver) dramatically ended his fight with John Tate, which he was losing big time. One uppercut off the ropes in the last round, and Big John fell like a California redwood in the forest.

I'd add Shannon Briggs vs. Sergei Lyahovich to this list as well.

Briggs was throwing just a few punches a round and huffing and puffing then all of a sudden....BAM !

In the post fight interview I remember Jim Gray or someone asking Briggs "What would you have done if you hadn't landed that big punch in the last round ?"

Briggs replied: "I dunno probably gone home and shot myself in the head."

    hahaha !

"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"

Ummm... Leotis Martin vs Sonny Liston anyone

Both of those poor guys never recovered from that fight, Leotis had a broken orbital bone & Sonny Liston ended up beating Chuck Wepner in his final fight and then he died/was murdered. Liston was scheduling a fight vs George Chuvalo when he died.

Did not realize Sonny put on a run of about 15 wins and that lone defeat after he lost the title to Ali, he was far from finished.

He was a great fighter, not a great champion by any stretch because he didn't hold the title for long or ever win it back for that matter. He got his title shot very late in his career & had some very shady friends. I would have loved to have seen Frazier vs Liston, I wonder if Frazier would have faired better vs Liston than he did vs Foreman.
