It was a drug cartel, Chavez Jr's girlfriend was working for him before
i don't loathe martinez. i just don't think he's p4p #3 like some believe. and i don't think chavez has been ducking him the way some believe. they have very similar records. i think chavez is coming into his own, the way martinez came into his own 6 or 7 fights ago. we'll see what happens. i think martinez is unorthodox and not a strong boxer... if you can avoid his one big punch he may be easy to beat. is chavez the guy that can do that? maybe.
Just so we put to rest that Junior wasn't ducking Martinez, here is his promoter, Bob Arum, on the record saying he kept Martinez away from Junior and that Martinez had a valid claim that the titles should be his (it came out about the time the Zoolander/Gumby fight was announced):
Unless I'm mistaken, you jump at every chance to put Martinez down, yet when you are offered the chance to put your money where your mouth is, you back out. Bottom line is as weak of a record you think Martinez has, you still think he is better than the number three middleweight in the world, according to Ring Magazine, and number four according to ESPN, otherwise you would back up your chit chat.
To keep it interesting and hopefully persuade you, I'll quote Prodigy from Mobb Deep in "Shook Ones":
"I can see it inside your face, you're in the wrong place. Cowards like you just get they're whole body laced up with bullet holes and such. Speak the wrong words man and you will get touched."
i'm not really gonna be influenced by your " put your money where your mouth is" or the "back up your chit chat" or your mid '90's fake gangster rap(high school for the arts graduates) quotes. kinda sounds like your threatening to shoot me.
--but the way you're coming after me about this makes me think that you may b e a little touched yourself.
i am really excited about the fights that night tho!
