Lighten up, Lyle! It was still funny. And McCain might be an "American hero", but he's still viewed (and rightfully so) as a warmonger.... and his speech at the RNC did nothing to dispel that.

Folks, that was a beautiful dodge to the question.
Yes... Jack... did you see the flawless technique? Here it is again in slow-motion.
BEAU-TI-FUL. Watch as the question is asked... then quickly deflected with a clever one-liner.
Stuff of legends, Jack. Folks... you don't see many better than this.

Tito,
I'm not sure an article discussing Ed Schultz calling him a warmonger and then later being rebuked by an Obama spokesperson in 2008 really qualifies as a monolithic view that McCain is a warmonger. Even when I did a google search for McCain and Warmonger the only major news outlet I found was a NY times article (blog on NY times) discussing Ed Schultz saying warmonger.
McCain Called a 'Warmonger' at Obama Appearance - NYTimes.com
Saying he is widely viewed as a warmonger is akin to saying the President is widely viewed as a communist. Sure there is a vocal minority that spouts this line but most people dont toe the line.
Not sure what the second link has to do with the topic at all.

The best line from the GOP conference so far belongs to Senator Lindsay Graham :
“The demographics race we’re losing badly,” said Sen. Lindsey O. Graham (S.C.). “We’re not generating enough angry white guys to stay in business for the long term.”
On Tuesday, convention organizers ejected two attendees after they reportedly threw peanuts at a black CNN camerawoman and told her, “This is how we feed animals.” Organizers called the conduct “inexcusable and unacceptable.”
As Republican convention emphasizes diversity, racial incidents intrude - The Washington Post
As far as whether the GOP can turn the economy round, Romney is planning a return to the exact-same Bush-era policies which caused the current economic disaster. And he's planning to turn Medicare into a voucher system where the voucher pays less and less of the cost of retirees' healthcare. He's saving the village by destroying it.

I actually excluded some of the more radical and biased articles I found, calling McCain a warmonger. There's others, including the one I posted, that are a lot less biased. You stated you were unaware of anyone referring to McCain as a warmonger. I posted links where he's referred to as a warmonger.
The topic here is the Republican National Convention. The second link I posted, was to show how McCain has conveniently and laughably flip-flopped on his views and support of Mitt Romney. Totally within the subject, IMO.

I've never heard McCain referred to as or suggested to be a warmonger....ever

Oh... and here's a neat little article that shows how brazenly politicians change their tune when it suits them.
