I feel if he leaves now he walks away with a great legacy which any fighter should be proud of.

Funny, if a points decision went just a little diffferently and he beat Calzaghe he could have gone out at the top of the p4p rankings.

Joe won that fight, Hopkins stunk the place out but that was his only way to beat Joe and it nearly worked.

I would love for Hopkins to beat one good fighter and call it a day but he will go on and on until he feels he feels he has nothing else to give. He must train hard and have the motivation of a young fighter to continue at this level with the money he has made.

I remember watching it live and having it a draw.
I'm not sure that I've watched it any more than one time since?

He's a very driven individual I think. I'd be interested in how he could sculpt fighters as a coach.

It is a boring fight to be honest, but recorded it recently as I want it on DVD and only got it on VHS, moving with the times.

I have thought a final big PPV fight Hopkins should have before he hangs up his gloves win, lose r draw that is with James Toney at cruiser weight. They have history, the pre-fight talk will be good and the fight will be competitive. Both could get some closure.

Toney during his prime was absolutely sublime and I have to say that like Hopkins he is still a tricky task for anyone.

You know speaking of Toney, I've been really thinking. Its a shame that Hopkins never decided to campaign at SMW 168. Had he fought there, fights with Toney, Ottke, Jones, Calzaghe, Beyer could all have been more possible.

He moved straight up so he could fight Tarver, he also was old fashioned and the light heavyweight division was something Sugar Ray Robinson was never able to conquer so that motivated him to stay there. even at middleweight he avoided Joe for bigger money fights against Oscar and Tito which you could not blame him.

Hopkins was trying to create a legacy at middleweight at the time of Toney and Jones, so they were too early for him to move up.
