Difference is Robert trained as a professional, made his two division jump official, not to mention let his promotion and opponent in on it...prior to air time.

"I can come down to 147" what a twat. Why do people drink this clowns kool-aid so willingly.
Fact of the matter is he is not bigger then Broner. I don't get hung up on personality and his clowning around is what it is. I like the way he fights and his style which is like Floyds but with seek and destroy as the operating premise. Yup he can act like a tool but that doesn't bother me. I think he's the real deal and I am not a fan of kool-aid.
Honestly man its not the spouting off like a entitled toddler or the shtick. I get that. Its one guy in Guerrero worked his way and jumped to 147 with legitimacy in full view of the fans vs a legit welter, like a professional. Broner came up on the cheap if ya ask me, back doored his way into a division in what would have been his "biggest showcase"...at lightweight and thought nothing of giving the finger to fans, opponent, network, contract etc. He's cheap and rehearsed. Just as transparent as glass right now.
This is how I feel about the whole Broner thing. He's such a shameless, cheap knock off of Floyd it's embarrassing - he doesn't even try to be different from his post fight interviews, his style and he even tries to imitate his personality with the woeful addition of the hairbrush.

I'd be insulted as hell if I was Floyd and this fool was claiming to be the best alongside me. Floyd's opposition and professionalism was at another level to this goof at the same point in their careers.

I always say I don't mind a cocky attitude if it's warranted and this guy has a great style, could be potentially great but comes off a dick when he is hyping himself without having done shit.

Fight hype to make one think Guererro has a chance. Did anyone see his last fight? Broner at 140 or 147 would decimate him very badly. Guerrero is not meant to be above 135.

Yeah Floyd was a professional and not as cocky just confident, but when he hit his prime he knew what sold. Broner doesn't have to go through the transition period thus more people are talking about him now.

it's all marketing. The clip of him and the "Can you brush my hair" proposal was all over Sportscenter that week. He knows what he's doing, or rather his marketing team does. Boxing will need more characters to rake in the casuals once Floyd retires which could very well be one fight from now.

The sad reality is being "the best in the world" no longer trumps being the most marketable and they don't even go hand and hand anymore.

Look at how a star like Andre Ward has flown under the radar. This kid has beaten Artur Abraham, Carl Froch, Mikkel Kessler and tonight Chad Dawson, all of which making it look easy and the kid was nowhere on pound for pound lists and would only sell out an arena in his hometown. That ONLY happens in this era of boxing where marketing > best in the world. And if you can get both you're what Floyd is right now. But if you're only the best in the world then you're what Ward is. Under the radar, beating every name and other best, and not on anyones pound for pound list(till tonight) and that's both sad and upsetting.

I get all that but does he really have to be such a shameless rip off of Floyd? All the way down to "First of all I wanna thank god.." after every fight? Like really??

Get your own personality you cardboard cut out! He'll be up there soon enough but needs to stop fighting bums and coming in overweight.

Totally agree. I also agree that he's a fking idiot and comes across as a plastic dufus.

He is also very talented in the ring.
With you %100 right there. The kid has skill and reflex that is obvious. I just hope he maximizes it between the ropes the right way as much as he does for sound bites and twitter.
