But at 147 he had the undisputed Champion willing to fight him, a guy with some credibility. Not to mention guys like Margariito and up and comers like Quintana and Williams that might have been ready in a year or two. I could to some extent understand skipping over 140 so fast, but I don't understand this, Baldomir made sense. Spinks is a good fighter but Baldomir made more sense.

Spinks is a good fighter, its not a disreputable choice, and it would be a solid win that I'd give floyd some credit for, but I just don't understand the rush to skip over weight divisions and I definitely don't understand the decision to skip over the undisputed champion at 147. Its just an odd move even if he thinks an Oscar fight could be in the cards, although I've never been convinced that fight will ever happen.
Excellent analysis, exactly what I was thinking CC, but the only thing I disagree with is that Spinks is in anyway a respectable fight,I totally disagree. This guy has fought once in 2 years and should be giving Karmazin a rematch(a match which I think Roman would win) and if PBF wants to fight PPV,at least make it an exciting fight!
