I find Jones Jr's style to be significantly different to that of Martinez. Martinez takes risks in his fights and thus we get fights like against Pavlik and Williams. Very fun and fan friendly. Jones Jr. was never particularly fan friendly.

Andre Dirrell is probably more similar to Jones Jr than Martinez and I find him dull to watch too. It isn't a style I warm too very easily.

Dude, he knocked out a guy with his hands behind his back. Jones was a lot of things, but he was a very entertaining fighter (edit: or as entertaining as someone who massively outclassed all of his opponents until the end could be).

I respect Jones Jr, but cannot say I enjoyed his style. I believe a lot of other fighters have been a lot more entertaining. I like different styles, from that of Barrera, Toney, Tyson, and Calzaghe. All very different, but the all reflexes and avoid a punch at all costs style is just a bit boring. It is effective, but I don't regard it as very entertaining. You can nod off at points.

So why didn't you like Roy's style? Was he playing too safe while knocking people out and rarely losing a round?

I didn't even hear him saying this, but I told my bro , that Martinez fights similar as RJJ. Not exacly the same. But there are similarities . He uses his jab more often and isn't as fast and strong as RJJ was (keep in mind RJJ was in a different weight class- Sergio isn't a big MDW)

It wasn't very fun. It was all about athleticism and not getting tagged, which is great, but ultimately can lead to a lot of less than interesting fights. A stoppage is great, but not if you are bored waiting for it.

Roy Jones is an odd one for me. I like the guy and respect his achievements, but I never sit down and watch a fight and think 'I am really enjoying this'. I need more grit and crunch.

Roy was class and far more talented that Sergio. Martinez should be blushing (and gushing) with embarrassment.

Roy was exceptional but his record was laughable! He never fought any of the main men in any division!
