The thing about Calzaghe is that most American fans have not done their homework...if they had...Calzaghe would be as highly reveared as Hopkins, Jones, & Gatti were in their primes & hey-days.

Calzaghe is a master at work in the ring & it's a shame that my Yank brothers haven't branched out for him.

one problem there mr.whack......we dont get eurusport, sky, bbc or whatever channel he is fighting on. If talent like JC dosent come to the USA how are we supposed to know how good they are? Us unfortunate ones can come to sites like saddo and read about JC,Hatton and the like, BUT if we never see the guy live? So the blame can hardly be placed on the average fan in the USA. I think its more up to the boxer himself to make his name know WORLD WIDE. Im not placing blame , but facts are facts.

Offense or no offense, burnout or no burnout. Whether he could or could not throw punches didnt have anything to do with moving his head.

Lacy wants to truly "dominate" he needs to learn a jab and better defense.

There's an easy set of solutions to answer questions before they are asked about fighters that you don't know about...& you don't have to have USA/Brit access.

Dig deep in your wallet & buy career sets. If money is an issue...just download the fights, trade files, or get on ebay for bootlegs.

The blame isn't on the fan for being across the world...the blame is for passing judgement without proof or pudding.

I'm not placing blame either...but like you said...facts are facts.

I live in the U.S.A., but I don't close my eyes off to world issues or world fighters...if it's out there...seeing is believing.

People that still believe Lacy can beat Calzaghe...well...then you need to see more Calzaghe fights.

Lacy bulls in constantly & that plays right into Calzaghe's game plan.

It amazes me how some peeps still under rate him after the beatdown he dished out.

Calzaghe's natural abilities are one step above Lacy's. Don't get me wrong...I'm a Lacy fan...but I'm a Calzaghe fan also...bottom line is that Joe is faster & shows more angles than just straight ahead & swinging for the fences.

Lacy needs to dominate on the back burner & wait on Joe to retire.
Wacko, had about 15 Calzaghe fights on the comp at one time or another. Before the Lacy fight, everyone was talking about how Lacy was going to be thoroughly outboxed but I said the whole time it wouldn't be the case. Anytime Calzaghe gets tagged, or his blood gets to pumping, he stands in front of his guy. He stands right in front and...for a guy like Lacy that is a dream come true. Just couldn't capitalize.

Given the chance again, I think he has a chance to win and it's Calzaghe who would hand deliver that. He would have to be absolutely top notch but...he can walk through Joe's punches. The only thing is Calzaghe is so fast, it would be hard for Lacy to negate that speed.

And now he is going to improve his defence by sparring against an offensive fighter?

He needs to spaw offensive fighters and stay in his shell in sparring to improve his defence... not winky wright.
Well he also has Chad Dawson in his stable who is an offensive southpaw. But I think it's more of the writers dwelling on Wright then he and his camp are.
Actually Winky Wright is the only fighter he mentioned in the retooling process .

Would you care to elaborate ? Oh , I 'm Gabriel Montoya by the way . And yes , there are some typos in the article just to get that criticism out of the way . Blame my editors for that one .

Anyone notice who posted this? Seems to be some spelling and grammar errors. Is the writer of this story not so good with English or is the poster ROYAL and made a few 'minor' changes to the article?
See my above post . I don't know what the hell happened in the translation process . My editor lives in Australia so the back and forth process is a problem . The version I sent did not have the problems this one did . You win some , you lose some .

Maybe he would but I think it's legit. He was out of his element, you could see it just on his ring walk and after round 1. He wasn't ready for a fight that big. He didn't really discredit him, he said it was an excellent performance but...I'm sure he was telling the truth. I mean it's a lot easier to say he got beat by a better man then say that he blew it and it was on him. I have thought from the night of the fight on that it was as much of a Lacy loss then it was a Calzaghe win. Still it was a masterful performance.
To be honest I dont really see him saying " I was beaten by the better man". He said he could have been beaten by any man. Thats a small token of respect.

I wanna see Jeff do well, but to say any man could have beaten him that night does not bode well for the future....he needs to solve that defence..,.
Agree on the defence. But when he says any man could have beaten him, I think he was alluding to him being burnt out. It was his first ever big fight and...he just wasn't ready. Oh well, he'll be back and I think he'll get another fight with Calzaghe somewhere down the line and I still think he beats Calzaghe. Call me dellusional but Calzaghe fought Lacy's fight on the inside last time. It was just that Lacy was nothing more then a punching bag standing in front of him. Won't be the same a second time. Of course he needs 4 or 5 fights before a Calzaghe rematch is even discussed but I think it will happen.
I hope there is a rematch in the future. And though I will be supporting Lacy all the way in his comeback. When it comes to a fight with Joe, you know where I will display my loyalties.

I think Lacy can rule the division, but a victory over Calzaghe will not play a part in it...
And you know where my loyalty lies

Kind of wierd that we say one of the most lopsided 12 round shut outs in the history of boxing and we're talking about a rematch
Every fighter deserves a shot at the man who gave them their first loss in my opinion .

I lkie the fact that Lacy wanted to comeback after his first loss against guys like Tarver & Green, I hope when he does get back in the ring it's against some of the same top opposition. By fighting & beating some of the top guys he can work his way into contention for a rematch with Calzaghe. I'd love to see him fight guys like Mundine, Kessler or Andrade.
