There will be a rematch. Boxing is about money and the rematch will be as good (money wise) as this one. I want to see Martinez get a real big payday too!

Question Re: Does anyone actually want to see a rematch??

I wouldn't mind if Martinez faces Geale, and Chavez faces Golovkin. Winners fight each other. Then if Sturm is still around , he can face the winner .

Arum says he's going to do a rematch in Cowboys Stadium next year. He says it'll sell 100 000 tickets. So we're going to see a rematch.

Martinez is apparently in hospital with a broken hand and a torn knee.

No, but boxing is desperate for a Mexican fighter. They over matched him this time, but Mexicans still filled up the seats in Vegas as always.

Exactly right. Unless Sergio can get a fight with Floyd, this rematch is the most money he can make, easily. (And I think Canelo probably still has the inside track on the Floyd fight, unless Floyd wants to get a 12-0 on Bradley just to clown Pacquiao.) And it can be sold on the same JCC- Meldrick Taylor storyline as they sold the end of this one. Add to that the fact that Sergio will be that much older and they can sell it, despite the fact that there were 11 rounds of complete outclassing and embarrassment. Agree 100% that I want to see Sergio make the money - he is one of my favorites to watch.

I was about to type that in the 11th round, but I didn't want to jynx Martinez.

The only problem is Ward's size, but he can't be all that much bigger than Jr.
I was thinking the exact same thing as well. Only problem is I do question how much $$$ this fight could generate.

Like 'beenKOed' said, boxing is a ($$$) business and the most $$$ Martinez could make would be from a rematch. JCCJR does not deserve the rematch in my opinion but Martinez most certainly deserves the payday that fight will generate.

Worth mentioning, Jr took a beating for like 11 rounds and even got popped a few times in the 12th during the exchanges, does anyone think Jr will actually want to do the rematch?

And secondly I would love to see Geale v Martinez. Geale deserves a shot at the P4P Middleweight king, but man how could this fight be built up to earn the $$$ both men deserve to the world and maybe more importantly American market?!

We don't need a rematch because the fight was so one-sided. Sergio should face Cotto or Canelo. The Mexican fight fans now know him, if they didn't before his beat down of Junior. Make Canelo versus Martinez!
