Froch is under-rated.

I think the Cobra has enough fire-power to give anyone probs to be honest.

Hopefully 2007 will see him involved in some good tear-ups. His stoppage of Brian Magee was cold-blooded - to pull out a whipping uppercut in the 11th round of a tough pick-em fight convinced me. Especially considering he shattered his thumb in the 1st round.

He's second to Calzaghe in the SMW division IMO, with Brahmer not far behind that.

I wouldn't put Kessler with Froch or Brahmer, they are more talented than that guy and both would take him out.

He doesn't actually get hit flush all that often.

Plus Froch seems to have a pretty solid chin, and his right hand is his equaliser.

It'll take something to beat him.

Listen, he punches harder than most if not all of the other SMW's, he's stronger than most if not all of the other SMW's, he's rangier than most if not all of the other SMW's, he's faster than most if not all of the other SMW's, he can box up close, he can box out of range. He's got some awkward unusual shots, from silly angles. He's never ever been floored in his life, never even been hurt! And he has that equaliser, remember. I'm standing by Froch..

The amount of times he got hit on the button in the Westerman fight was frightening, you can tell how bad his defence is just looking at his face and his nose. If he got hit like he did in that fight by anybody top 10, he would be going down!!

That said he does have so much talent - just a shite defence!!

And despite all those attributes he had to pull a win out of the bag against Charles Adamu who smacked him in the face all night long with the right hand.

Adamu fought a twelve rounder two weeks previous as well.

Frochy can't get motivated for those opponents, I believe you haven't seen the best of him yet. I am sure that a Calzaghe or a Kessler would bring the best out of him!

I wasn't a big Froch fan at all until the Magee win. That was the first time I thought he showed a bit of substance instead of showmanship. He's got talent, we know he can bang and his chin looked safe last time out. I agree with the questions over his defence though. His hands are way too low, too often. It's a major weakness that will be exploited the further up in class he goes. If he learns to get his hands up he has the tools to be a big player in that division no doubt.
He's got a country mile to go before he gets mentioned with the names in this thread though. I won't breathe his name in the same sentence as Benn just yet.

Mmm.

Thing is, all his opponents have held their gloves high up and still got KO'd...only a handful went the distance and most of them touched the canvas en route.

So i dont see what the deal his - he's a sweet counter puncher - he shows them plenty of target and draws them in - then wallop.

He has more plus's than neg's.

He hits like a mule, great chin, excellent stamina and some great punches in his arsenal, especially the uppercut.

CF: I turned pro with the aspiration of becoming a top world champ. To me, British and Commonwealth champ isn’t half way up the ladder. I’ll not settle for European. I aim to achieve unification. That’s not unrealistic because I was ranked three or four in the world as an amateur and I’m a much better pro. Britain’s full of pessimists but I see nothing wrong with setting massive goals. It’d be great if the nation could get behind me.
