All four fighters were born in England, with Macklin and Lee both having Irish parents. Having Irish ancestry has enabled both fighters to compete for Irish Titles during their careers .

Andrew fought his amateur career from Ireland, representing St. Francis Boxing club in Limerick.
He had multiple national Irish tiles as an amateur.
Macklin is through ancestry, his father, from Tipperary, but is a product of the UK amateur ranks.
