Amir khans final comeback...?

Is this amirs final swan song? Or is he talented enough and young enough to bounce back again?

Amir has speed and great boxing skill. If he would have gave prescott a rematch and beat him would that have gave amir a great confidence boost in a way that might have eliminated any talk of the glass jaw?
Would he have been a different fighter?
Can mr.hunter change amir and will he listen?

Glad he kicked Roach to the curb. One way trainer. Khan never even learned to properly hold. I think he has the talent and punch to carry on so no swan song regardless imo. He lacks a real plan B and I have said that since he burst onto the scene. He does not seem able to deal with adversity and believes his talent alone wins the day. I think his issues are upstairs.

Roach being overated is another topic altogether and one that I totally agree with you on. I have been saying that for years.

Spicoli nailed it - Khan is always trying to be something he's not. He has the talent and attributes to fight like a top class boxer but wants to fight like Antonio Margarito without the chin. Never going to end well. The most disciplined I've seen him look was against Kotelnik when he won the world title.

And he did VERY well against Maliggnaggi too. He has it, just needs to work on his defense and inside fight. Working with Hunter and Ward will improve that I think, or it certainly can't do any harm. Like someone already said, just learning to hold a little on the inside would help him. He's still one of the best at 140 chin or no chin and he's still exciting to watch, like it or not.

Yup, would be silly to disagree with any of those things. Khan has all the tools. His ego just won't let him hide his limitations like other fighters have learned to do. Ward hits and smothers, Margarito never stopped throwing punches, Mike Tyson would try and end fights asap, Calzaghe would turn on the furious slap windmill for 12 rounds (I'm sorryyyyy, you know I can't help it) - Khan needs to include holding on the inside in his game and he's pretty much complete.

Perhaps you need an intervention of some kind. Look you are a solid poster and I have no wish to do a key board lets call each other names thing but this Calslappy shit is one of the most overused terms in modern times.

Cal had one of the best ko ratios in modern times until he busted his hands around the time of Shieka.
He still went undefeated
He still pimp slapped the heir to the throne from this continent.

Khan is on borrowed time with respect to US box office. I can't see Americans paying ppv money any longer for a Khan headlined bill.

With the Hobson announcement surely the writing is on the wall, swansong for Khan and Ricky H. with 30,000 tribal Mancs watching live at £100 a pop. Not much to do with world title boxing though, basically because neither of them are good enough.

Khan has the same problem as Hatton. Not enough ring-smarts and the inability to stick to a plan. They both have a lot of raw talent and can look exceptionally good if they are allowed (by both their opponent and the referee) to fight in their own style. They can both stick to a gameplan up to a point, but when things start going wrong, the plan goes out the window and they revert to instinct, and that's why they're not truly world class fighters. Hatton showed it vs Mayweather, Pacquiao and even Lazcano. Khan showed it against Maidana, Peterson and Garcia. Say what you want about Calzaghe but his ability to change his game when he needed to was a fundamental reason why he retired an undefeated champion.

Was just going to say same thing. Khan is one KO away from his career ending - or becoming an Audley as some have put it, which is the same thing...... Either way he isn't going to reach the heights he thought he was.

Khan's opponents will be extremely confident of winning now too as long as they have just average pop in their fists. Even I reckon I could do him !

As long as they both win their fights in November / December , Hatton and Khan should just get the British showdown on and make one hell of a massive pay day. Though both their stars have fallen this would be huge over here and sell a stadium out easy - probably the biggest domestic fight ever (up there anyway).
